  • I work with higher functioning adults (18-64) and seniors (65+). I find that clients are more satisfied with your therapy sessions when you are willing to put forth the work to collaborate to address their goals.

  • Yes, I have extensive experience working with the aging population, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and GLBT populations.

  • Your initial session is 60-90 minutes in length. I perform an evaluation to help me better understand what is going on in your life and how I may help you. Unless a client requests a longer session, follow-up sessions are 50 minutes in length.

  • It varies based upon your needs, why you are coming for services, history of trauma, and how much effort you put into sessions.

  • Although some clients require more time to develop rapport and trust, trust is essential in my work with clients. Therefore, during your initial evaluation, we will discuss what goals you would like to work towards and the timeframe required to achieve your goals.

  • For the first few weeks, I prefer weekly sessions to establish rapport; then, if needed, we can modify the frequency of the sessions to best suit your needs.

  • For self-pay clients, the charge is $150 per 50-minute session or $175 for a 60-minute session. Clients who use non-managed Medicare (straight) or First Choice insurance will have a 20% co-pay per session.

  • You can cancel your appointment anytime. However, to avoid a $50.00 no-show fee, please cancel 24hrs in advance.

  • I accept non-managed Medicare (traditional) for both Texas and Oregon (not Montana residence), MODA, First Choice/Adventist Health, and Care Oregon insurances. If insured through another company, I will be happy to provide you with an itemized printout (SuperBill) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement purposes.

  • Before your initial session, you can complete a financial form with your payment information. By completing this form, you will allow me to charge your credit card after each session automatically. However, other payment options are available.

  • Your information will be kept private and confidential unless you provide me with consent to release it for a specific purpose. However, there are some exceptions, and the more common exceptions: where there are concerns about your safety due to self-harm or threats of harm towards others; suspected or known neglect of abuse of children, elderly, of the disabled; fee collections, such as with insurance (3rd party payers); or when there are legal proceedings where I am required to discuss my care with you. However, we can discuss this more in person to address any concerns you may have. I adhere to HIPAA and HiTECH Act in protecting your information.

  • Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, I have a duty as a healthcare provider to inform client’s who choose not to use insurance (do not plan on submitting a superbill or seek any reimbursement by their insurer), or who do not have insurance of the expected total cost of my services through a “Good Faith Estimate.”

    • You as a client have the right to receive a “good faith estimate” of what I believe will be the total cost of my services based upon our initial evaluation.

    • This should be delivered to you at least 1 business day prior to our first session after I evaluate you.

    • If you believe my initial estimate is inaccurate or if our work together exceeds more than $400, you have a right to dispute the charges.

    • If during our work, I believe our my work with you will exceed more than $400 over the initial good faith estimate, I will re-evaluate the costs and speak with you about my new estimate.

    • Please keep a record of the estimate, if you lose it, please inform me so I can provide you with a copy.
